LaCharta

The LaCharta, created by Laura Lamarca, consists of a minimum of 3 stanzas with no maximum length stipulation. Each stanza contains 6 lines. The syllable count is 8 per line in iambic tetrameter and the rhyme scheme is aaaabb ccccdd eeeeff and so on. "La" is Laura Lamarca's signature and "Charta" in Latin, simply means "poem".

Example:
Ceilings of societal slur

A sight of deca-dare or die
is fastened fast inside my eye
and in a blink, within a sigh,
it causes scenes to scream and cry,
as optics opt to ail, protrude
in gestures feigned and aptly rude.

For through your lens all luck can live
inside old thoughts, that seep like sieve
because they choose (and pray forgive)
to see just white in slight octive,
while two-tones tempt a truer shade
and black defies its doom to fade.

Equalities refuse to play,
to land or leap, from night nor day
and shock sits on in skies to say
"I won't back down or walk that way".
So as you look at me and judge,
just know I've stuck and will not budge...

for I see more than skin or hue,
see more of him and more of you;
all people in a person's view--
we're all the same if green or blue.
Now, if I climb down from this place...
please stop this prejudicial race.
